Hope Primary Pupil Librarians and Reading Committee

We are delighted to announce that Hope Primary School is the first school in Knowsley to complete the SLS School Library Award.

Led by Debbie McConlough, the school has demonstrated competence in 12 areas of activity to achieve the award. Hope Primary is doing lots of fabulous work around reading and library provision across the whole school including Books for Breakfast, Dads & Lads and Drop Everything and Read; plus regular visits from the Book Wizard and a resident Reading Dog!

As well as a dedicated school library, they have an outdoor Reading Sanctuary and reading areas within each class. There are lots of opportunities for pupils to get involved in books and reading. As well as pupil librarians, children form part of a Reading Committee, select the World Book Day books from a local bookshop, arrange book displays and oversee the delivery of the library loans from SLS.

The school have gone on to receive our Gold Award for achieving enhanced status in 15 areas of activity.
