Klaus Flugge 2017 Picture Book shortlist announced

The Klaus Flugge Prize rewards the most promising and exciting newcomer to children’s book illustration. This year’s shortlist showcases some of the best examples of picture books for children from modern fairy tales to a journey into the unknown.

Little Red by Bethan Woollvin is a modern re-invention of the classic fairy tale; The Museum of Me by Emma Lewis is a quirky story of a little girl’s journey to a variety of museums; First Snow by Bomi Park illustrates the wonder of a first snowfall; Hannah and Sugar by Kate Beruke tells the story of  Hannah and her search to find a missing pet and last but not least The Journey by Francesca Sanna follows a mother and her two children as they leave everything behind and set off on a journey into the unknown.

The winner of last year’s inaugural prize was Hector and Hummingbird by Nicholas John Frith.
