The Midnight Gang

I’ve only just got around to reading this and I have to say I really enjoyed it. When Tom is hit on the head by a cricket ball he ends up in Lord Funt Hospital where the food is awful, the Matron hates children and the porter is hideous….or so Tom thinks. When some of the children slip out of the ward at midnight, Tom follows them and discovers that they are members of the Midnight Gang. What do they get up to each night while the rest of the patients are asleep? Where do they go? And will they let Tom join in!

A moving tale of friendship and following your dreams. David Walliams manages to create a clever mix of madcap adventure and tender moments. The characters are all well crafted and the storyline keeps you reading. The formula is getting a bit tired for my liking but children will love it. A laugh out loud read.
