Are you up for a Reading Challenge…

Our Lady’s Reading Champions

Our Lady’s Primary in Prescot certainly are!

We were really pleased to be invited into Our Lady’s Primary earlier this year, to help celebrate their Christmas Reading Challenge. The school’s Reading Champions came up with the idea to hold the challenge during the Christmas holidays to help promote reading, along with Deputy Head teacher Colette Smith. Our Lady’s achieved a Gold Reading Quality Mark last year and are committed to sustaining their focus on books and reading.

“We worked really hard to promote reading in school and we decided to organise a Christmas Reading Challenge in school. Our aim was to beat the Summer Reading Challenge numbers. We were thrilled when 86 pupils took part in the challenge and we helped to organise an assembly to celebrate. Pauline and Kate from the Library Service were our special guests and joined us to present the certificates and prizes. Many parents and relatives joined us at the two assemblies to join in the celebrations. We are looking forward to organising more exciting events in the future.” Quote from Our Lady’s Reading Champions.
